Meet Our Staff
I was born and raised at Acme Creek Kennels and spent many years racing sled dogs through ISDRA, which I really enjoyed. I am happy to say I work along with my wife Amber and you will most likely see me putting together your dogs daily camp activities or maintaining our grounds.
Sometimes it's tough knowing where to take your pet while you are out of town. Acme Creek Kennels has been dedicated to caring for your pets since 1989. We will make sure your pets feel like they never left home! Acme Creek Kennels is one of the best kept secrets in Grand Traverse County. We are a family run business with two Licensed Veterinary Technicians on staff and are dedicated to caring for your 4-legged family member while you are away. Acme Creek is a full service dog and cat boarding facility. We will make sure your pet is safe and healthy while they are in our care. Living on the premises makes our family available to our campers 24/7. Acme Creek Kennels is located at 5311 Bunker Hill Rd just outside of Traverse City, MI. Our location makes us accessible from Kalkaska County, Antrim County, Elk Rapids and Traverse City. We are located on a quiet 45 acres just off of US 31 N and M-72 E by the new Meijiers.
I became a part of the team in Spring 2011. In 2014 I decided to go to school to get an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technician and completed in 2016. You most likely meet me at the reception desk when you bring your pet in to stay. I am a very quiet person by nature so the pets are very comfortable with me.
My love for animals started early in life. I graduated from MSU as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. We started Acme Creek in full confidence with the motto " If they could do, we could do it better", and that we have proven our theory right! I have trained dogs for obedience, personal protection and ran a sled dog racing team for 8 years. Right now I am enjoying raising Labradoodles and Moyen Poodles. In 2011 I gave up my position as the head of me Creek Kennels and became a staff member.
I started working at Acme Creek in 2014. I have four poodles, one you will see with me at work and her name is Penny. Penny loves to play with her friends at camp and she likes to welcome all of our new campers. You will occasionally see me up front greeting campers but for the most part I enjoy working in back with the animals.
